Sometimes the most creative way to market a product is to “piggy-back” it with another company’s product and take advantage of an untapped market. One of the largest producers of paints and paint coatings in the country used our incentive rewards to accomplish a successful combination of products.
The Incentive Program was directed at Building Contractors who purchased a specialized wood product from their local supplier. As an incentive to purchase our client’s brand of paint, individual contractors were awarded a set number of reward points for each can of paint purchased in conjunction with the other company’s specialized wood product. The overall result:
A leading U.S. health insurance provider was looking for a way to increase performance, decrease employee turnover, and increase morale amongst its employees. They initiated a Points-for-Performance Incentive Program in one of their main offices as a “test case” to gauge results. Within nine months, the company had rolled out the incentive program nationwide, increasing the number of participants ten-fold, from 1400 to over 14,000 participants.
Performance goals were achieved by granting specific point awards for quality, productivity, teamwork, and customer satisfaction. Programming was designed to award managers with a set number of points per person under their control. Managers could also use these points to distribute discretionary point bonuses for innovation and consistency. Employees were encouraged to logon to a customized rewards website where they could check point balances, track when points were awarded, and browse gift award choices. The customized incentive rewards selection included over 2500 promotional and premium products with items ranging in dollar value from approximately $5 to $500. The client’s goals were not only met - but were surpassed in every respect.
